On Saturday 16th of May 2009 Lambretta-Re-Store had its second open day.
Before I say anything else, a big thank you is in order for the Doncaster Hunters Scooter club, Allan for helping us out through the day, Magic Radio itself for spreading the word to the rest of the country about our open day, Peter & Cheryl Wilson from Scoot-Tater for providing everyone with Fantastic quality home made food and to Ben Thompson for the loan of his pride and joy (Going Underground) scooter which attracted allot of attention with Doncaster being an old mining area.
That's not all, A Huge Thank you to everyone who turned up and donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the great service they provide! To say it was only a small event that day, we all managed to give a nice figure of £31.68 every penny helps!! Lambretta-Re-Store will continue to collect for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in store, so you know one of many locations to donate.
Our open day had a huge turnout, people from all over and we saw some really great scooters and loads of new scooter riders who were really friendly and polite with good stories to tell (as usual!). On the day we were offering free drinks and biscuits and also a free raffle ticket. Three prizes were up for grabs, an Open Face helmet, Lambretta Tool Roll and a 4 Piece Pliers Set which were drawn on the same day at Parkland's Social Club in Doncaster. The Winners have been announced here.
Below are a few photos that were taken on that day (We've blurred out the reg plates and if you wish yourself to be blurred out, please contact us)

Also, there will be a van outside the shop that will be selling hot food.

On Saturday May 12th, Lambretta-Re-Store had it's first ride out.
Before we tell you a little about what went on, i'd first like to thank a few people who help organise this event. A big thank you to Colin Mason and Mark Gill from Doncaster Hunters, Karl Swainston and Alan for making this possible.
The 12th of May for me was a fantastic day. Why? Because I got to meet great people and see some really great scooters. Everyone who visited that day was friendly and polite and all had good stories to tell about there scootering experiences.
On the day, we were offering free drinks and everyone who visited us was also issued a free raffle ticket. Three prizes were on offer, a brand new helmet, Tool set and a wet suit, which would all be drawn at the evening function held at Parkland's Social Club in Doncaster.
Ironically the wet suit came in very handy that day, as the traditional British weather didn't fail, and we were treated to some quite heavy downpours at times. But this didn't put off all those who visited, a bit of rain wasn't going to stop these guys and girls from getting out and about on their scooters.
Here's a few photo's of that day (we've blurred out the faces & reg plates).....
